Newbie Post: Fried Green Tomatoes

Beginning to get acclimated to New York City life, once again, has had me craving some down-home cooked food. Now, being from a Mexican-American background, relying heavily in Poblano staples like mole and pipian, it was really difficult to start eating and enjoying Southern food. There was the reality that my mother probably never even had Southern cooking, nor did she want to learn or had the time, and the fact that I've always had it readily available to me back home. But now, living in NYC, it's nearly impossible to make fajitas, find good chili or just enjoy something Southern and good.

So, I've decided to try my hand at making some Southern and good and yummy. Come along for the ride!
